Split Tone

For this particular photo, I knew a split tone was what I wanted to do from the start due to how bright and blue the sky was and how much the castle contrasted it and everything else. I went for a lot of contrast here while keeping a nice light red split tone throughout.

Black & White

I decided to make this particular image black and white, because there was already a nice shadowy area through the whole doorway. Once I converted to grayscale, I tried to get as much contrast as possible without washing out areas. In addition to this I increased the detail and sharpening to really bring out some texture without making it look overdone. I actually really like this image.
